Only three days after Kristin Cavallari and her family reported him missing, former “The Hills” star Michael Cavallari has been found and pronounced dead.
According to a statement from the Grand County Sheriff’s Office, “At approximately 10:30 a.m. search crews located remains believed to be that of Michael Cavallari. At this time, the body is being transported to the Office of the Utah Medical Examiner for positive identification and to determine the cause of death.
The search crews were searching the Salt Wash area, near exit 175 on I-70 in Grand County. The terrain where the body was located is a steep and very rocky area.”
His whereabouts had initially raised concern when his 2014 Honda Civic was spotted, abandoned, along the I-70, in Utah, on November 27th.
Police managed to identify that he had been driving in the area around the same time the auto was found abandoned by looking at security footage from a local convenience store.
Reaching out to fans and public outcry, Kristin Cavallari said, in a statement to E! News: “We want to thank everyone for their love, support and prayers during this very difficult time. We have just been informed by the authorities my brother’s body has been found. This is a very painful time and we are still processing it all. We kindly ask everyone please respect our privacy during our time of grieving.”
In the caption of a childhood photo of her family at the ocean, which she posted to Instagram, she notes, “I appreciate all the concern, thoughts, and prayers that have been extended to me and my family. We remain hopeful and I will share any news that we receive. I have such gratitude for all those that have shared their support.”
