Netflix, the California-based entertainment company, has rolled out offline downloads for iOS and Android users in January 2017 and now Windows 10 users can also enjoy the offline playback feature. After downloading your favorite movie and TV shows, the user can view them from anywhere for instance when the user is traveling in a bus. The offline viewing was one of the most expected features by users. Also, Netflix has announced that this feature will now be available for Windows 10 users. If you wish to watch the movies that you have downloaded, you can do so even without the need of internet connection.

What does this feature include?

Before the launch of offline viewing feature, the users were able to watch shows and movie online only. But, this can be disappointing in the areas where there is slow or no internet connection.

As of now, users will have access to limited content basically the own in-house content of Netflix. But once licensing issue is sorted out, users will have wider options available for downloading.

Previously only Android and iOS users were able to access this feature, but now the Windows 10 PC users can enjoy this feature on a wider screen.

How to download movies and shows for offline playback on Windows 10 desktop?

The users need to install the updated Netflix Windows 10 app. As soon as you click on this app, it will display a message window showing “Download & Go” option. Until now, only a few movies and TV shows are available for downloading. Gradually users will have more downloading options.

The website called Windows Central have first noticed this feature. The Windows store does not show the version of Netflix app that user wish to download. So, to use this feature, we have to make sure that we are downloading the latest version of the app.

It is also hoped that Windows smartphone users can also enjoy offline viewing feature in near future as Netflix is a Microsoft Universal Windows Platform or UWP application.
