Facebook has announced a slew of new features so that users clings to its social media platform. The latest feature launched by the company will bring food ordering feature to its social networking app and website.
Facebook is making the task of ordering your favorite food easier. With this new feature, users can order the food from their favorite restaurants which will be available at their doorstep without leaving safe zones of Facebook.
Facebook is constantly taking efforts to reach out to millions of users across the globe to cater to their needs. This initiative will eradicate the necessity of installing the dedicated app or website. The task of ordering food is quite simple and can be done within few steps.
How to order food using Facebook?
To “Order Food” user can click on hamburger-styled light blue icon present on Facebook’s main navigation menu on the website and on the mobile app. By tapping this icon user can place the order for pickup or for home delivery using Delivery.com or Slice.
In October 2016, Facebook has declared a deal with online food ordering sites like Delivery.com and Slice and this new roll out is the expansion of the previous feature. Facebook has already acquired a large amount of consumer volume and the monthly active user’s population has crossed more than two billion marks. The company already own 3 popular apps namely Facebook, Messenger and Instagram.
When you click on “Order Food” icon on Facebook, a list of restaurants in your area which use this service will be displayed. By clicking on specific restaurants image or tapping the Start Order button, will display the restaurant’s menu.
After placing an order, you need to enter your address so that food will be delivered to that address or you can also pick up your order after the order is placed. You can pay for the food directly through Facebook. One can also add food items to the cart, edit orders, search a list of menus and much more.
After doing the payment successfully, a payment confirmation message will be displayed on the screen which will mention the estimated delivery or pickup time. Users will also receive a separate email notification after the order is placed and this is a safe method.
As of now, the food ordering feature will be available only in the United States whether this feature will roll out globally or not is not yet known.
