E-Commerce giant Amazon India announced that it will host a mega festival sale during the month of September. The company said it will host its flagship Amazon Great Indian Festival Sale between September 21 and 24. The sale is an attempt to beat rival online shopping giant Flipkart which holds a significant share of Indian e-commerce market. The reason why the sale is so big this time is that it will clash directly with Flipkart’s sale. Amazon is looking to collide head-on with Flipkart by announcing the sale on the same days. Though the sale opens on September 21, Prime members can avail the benefits of this sale from September 20 itself. As the customers look to prepare for the festive season, Amazon is all set to lure them with blockbuster deals from India’s biggest brands. The company is working with an entire ecosystem of sellers, partners, and brands to help customers celebrate a bigger and better festive shopping experience.
Interestingly rival Flipkart is also hosting its BigBillionDays sale in September. The Flipkart sale will go on from September 20 to 25, a day more than Amazon Great Indian Festival Sale. Amazon is expecting a mega boost in sales during this four-day sale. The company wants to make even more profit as compared to last year. Amazon will offer customers with big discounts, along with easy payment options like EMI on credit and debit cards. There will also be exchange offers and buy-now-pay-later.
To make things seamless, Amazon has teamed up with banks to offer cash-backs, exclusive discounts and even incentivize customers who choose to pay through its own digital wallet Amazon Pay. It will be a win-win situation for Prime customers as the company looks to offer exclusive deals and assured one and two-day free delivery.
It not just about shopping and sales, earlier this week, Amazon announced that it had created 22,000 temporary jobs in order to meet the demands during the Great Indian Festival Sale. The company has also expanded the warehouse management across the country in the build-up to the festive season. The sales are set to be special for customers looking to buy smartphones, large appliances, and furniture.
